Corsica

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Hmm..would it be evil to set up the Luftwaffe bombers to unit bomb Corsica to kill the turncoat Italians for vp?

Bonus evil points if you set up the Italians that are going to convert in rail mode.

I'm not sure the turncoat Italians are worth VP? I remember killing a unit once thinking "Hooray! Free VP for 10,000 dead Allies!", and not seeing any impact.

So, there's your answer....clever idea, but you'd be wasting your bombs.

The rail mode thing is interesting, but in the end Italians under your control will either be Frozen, or fighting, and you probably want to keep them fighting just in case Italy doesn't flip

Why do we have players "Gaming the Game" instead of "Playing the Game"?

Gamey exploit caught at design stage- Stop the press! Read all about it![:D]

Some players definitely see this as a game not a historical simulation. Their choice. An odd one because as pure games go it is not a classic (very asymmetric etc.). As a Wargame I love it.

Then why pay so much for a game when you could have a totally fantasy world game for a fraction of the price?

Its true. I do suck at WiTE. Although I cannot really fathom how it is I really love WiTW but don't have the same love for WitE.

I suspect that I will enjoy WiTE 2.0 though.
