Thanks wings for placing these posts on the site. I like looking at them and even though I am not buying right now - sort of in a "Gaming funk"

For some reason I rather just read about the games than play them, weird - I bought DC3 and rarely play it - it's like "wargame burnout"

Are you in your late 40's or 50 and above? I've had burnout for years now and not seeing gaming as I used to. My significant other says I'm growing up finally but I don't want to believe that (haha)

I think it is because the computer has taken over too much of the game experience. Die rolling, movement, doing everything but the strategy part (even command ops and norbsoft games will play themselves if you don't put any input in now). All I really seem to be doing is pressing the left and every once in awhile the right mouse button and rolling a mouse wheel.

I'm questioning what's fun about the games anymore. Why do I sit and watch a machine roll the die for me, move my pieces and make bad mistakes. Sometimes strategy just isn't enough. I miss the physical parts of the game. The rules lawyering [:D], the die rolling (especially the die rolling), the arguments about the rules, the cat accidents. [:'(] the setting up of the board itself. I love the smell of new cardboard in the mornings. ahhhhhh

Thing is I was glad when computers came along to take me away from all that. I didn't know the consequences of it then. Took 30 something years to find out though [X(]

Have all the good new designs been made? Just can't seem to find anything that really entices me to a gotta have it feeling anymore. I'd rather watch old documentaries on YouTube about the Roman and Greek eras and WWII and Civil war stuff now. Every once in awhile will look at some Napoleon ones or movies.

You're welcome, I enjoy doing it. Nothing weird about "reading about games", it's a great way to learn about the game and games you never heard of. [:)]

"DuckTales: Remastered" is on sale at 67% off! [:)] Sale ends January 22nd. I can see the eyes rolling now but this really is a masterful Platforming Adventure game. From the devs, "DuckTales: Remastered is a beautiful hand-crafted reimagining of one of the most cherished 8-bit titles of all time. Go back to one of the golden ages of gaming, now refined with a level of detail that will please the most hardened devoted Disney or retro Capcom fan alike. Featuring hand-drawn animated sprites, authentic Disney character voices talent and richly painted level backgrounds from the classic cartoon TV series, Scrooge McDuck and family come to life like never before. The gameplay retains the authenticity of its 8-bit predecessor; simple and fun, with slight modifications to improve gameplay flow and design. Embark on an authentic DuckTales adventure, as Scrooge McDuck and his three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie travel to exotic locations throughout the world in their quest to retrieve the five Legendary Treasures." I suppose you would have to be older to really appreciate it...check it out!

Sorcerer King is $11 on Steam, and I think it is probably worth it.

"Natural Selection 2" is on sale at 50% off! [:)] The Deluxe, Mega Pack and Deluxe Edition Upgrade are also on sale at 50% off! Sale ends January 24th. It's a Strategy-Multiplayer-FPS-Sci-fi game, not really my cup of tea but it has many players who like it! From the devs, "Natural Selection 2 pits alien against human in an action-packed struggle for survival. Wield devastating weaponry as a Frontiesman marine, or become the xenomorph as a deadly. Kharaa life-form. While both teams fight each other in first person, two commanders look down on the battlefield in a top-down Real Time Strategy view. These Commanders can issue orders, build structures, collect resources, research technology, and deploy abilities to help their team overcome the enemy." Check it out!

"MASSIVE CHALICE" is on sale at 80% off! [:)] Sale ends January 25th. This is a Tactical-Strategy-Fantasy game with a very interesting "Bloodline Relic" feature. From the devs, "MASSIVE CHALICE is a tactical strategy game set on an epic timeline from Double Fine Productions. As the Immortal Ruler of the nation, you'll take command of its heroes, forge heroic marriages to strengthen your Bloodlines, and battle a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence in a 300 year war." Definitely worth a look...

"Windward" is on sale at 67% off! [:)] Sale ends January 26th. This is a wonderful Pirate-Adventure-Open World-RPG game. I'll let the devs describe it, "Designed from the start to be a fully procedural co-op game, Windward can be played by yourself, but it truly comes alive when playing with friends. Start by generating a procedural world that will be unique to you, design your own custom faction then sail forward fighting pirates, trading with towns, doing quests or simply exploring -- it's up to you how you want to play.
As you sail about you will find resources you can make use of, upgrades for your ship, new towns that will ask your assistance, and as you get farther out from the starting area -- various pirates that will attempt to take what's rightfully yours. Combat experience will let you unlock new talents and abilities to make that particular line of work easier." If this is your cup of tea, don't miss it!

An interesting strategy game on Steam at 1/2 price $9.99

The Living Dungeon

http://store.steampowered.com/app/362290/

I'm tempted to buy this one myself but if it's 50% off then 75% off isn't far away. I'll wait I guess.[8D]

Curse you! Just last evening I got started with Civ4: Colonization which kept me up to 1 AM! You know: one more turn... Civ5 Complete bought. Also Age of Empires & AoE2 & expansions are coming on the mail (Steam doesn't have original AoE).
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
