Of waiting for a turn to arrive, and knowing that it will, just as you have to go do something else, and will not be able to play until the next day[8|]

Grab a book. Wakeman's "Spymaster. Dai Li and the Chinese Secret Service" is a great read. WiTP:AE sparked my interest in the China theatre first and China itself somewhat later. Hope to read "The Water Margin" this year.

Just checked out Spymaster at Amazon. Talk about sticker shock[X(]
I assume "The Water Margin" is the collection of classic stories? Also pricey, but probably worth a read.

"Spymaster" is pure gold for anyone intereted in China of 1930s and 1940s. Opium, SACO, Green Gang, Blue Shirts, communists, secret police etc plus the footnotes.A very shady area, outside the scope of WITP:AE, but totally fascinating.

Have you read "Forgotten Ally". Not a nuts and bolts type read, but a good overview.
