CS Middle East PBEM Tournament Now Recruiting!

Tired of being getting your teeth kicked out playing AI? Well now there's a chance to have them kicked out by a fellow player instead [:D]

I just started a thread recruiting for players to play through the Tournament Set A and Set B scenarios that come out with a game. While at it maybe then continuing with some Duel For Golan 1985 scenarios, to keep the ball rolling!

I am running it under The Blitz Wargaming Club this time around. To participate you need to register to Blitz, so if not done so yet just get that callsign generator up and running and register there. Make sure to mark CS Middle East as a game you own. This will get you into the so called Bootcamp roster, and with the first reported game you'll be one of the veterans in no time.

The purpose of the Tournament is to have fun first and foremost, and maybe introduce new players to PBEM gaming so anyone interested please join in.

Looking forward meeting many of you in the electronic battle fields then!

ENLIST HERE.

Any questions please let me know [:)]

Sounds like fun. I haven't picked up the CS:ME title yet, but have played CS dating back to the Talonsoft days. I find myself playing Tiller's Squad Battles and Panzer Battles frequently; can anyone summarize or compare the changes in CS:ME since the scale is similar to Panzer Battles? Anyone familiar enough with both to compare combat results, morale calculations, LOS, fire support and other tactical considerations?
There's a simple answer to every complex question - and it's wrong.

I don't own any of those games I am afraid so can comment only at general levels.

Similarities have to do with IGOUGO model, action point system, and with Panzer Battles the map scale of 250m per hex. Movement and handling of units is generally the same as how I have understood things.

Where things differ are scale for instance. Panzer Battles what I understand is 30 mins per turn and Coys and Platoons, where CS is Platoons and Sections with a time scale for each turn shorter.

But yes, maybe someone with experience from all these games can chip in and help you out here!

There's the introductory videos of course by Jason at this forum to describe how CS plays.

Also maybe the AARs can give you an idea of that too. Berto and I for instance have tried to write them in a manner that explains what's going on and how we approach each situation.
