Ai tutorial

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Here my (long) tutorial video which explains the concepts necessary to use the AI of divisions and brigades at corps level; I hope is sufficiently clear. More videos in future for explain more in detail single concepts.

Very useful, Mitra. Thanks. I think the depth and complexity of the AI in SoWWL goes un-appreciated by some. They seem to focus on only what looks wrong like overlapping formations and so on, or units "not doing what they want" when in fact the personality of the AI is behind these decisions. A lot of gamers expect total control and may be used to other games like Total War (I prefer to call it Total Nonsense as it bears no relation to war at all).

We have one player in our MP group who will sometimes issue a stance and orders to his division commander then just relax and watch the battle. I have fought against him and I cannot tell when I am fighting him in human control mode and when I am fighting the AI.

SoW's AI is easily the best on the market and NSD should do more to promote it. Its a hidden gem inside the game.

Seeing the depth of the AI that your tutorial shows is fascinating. Thanks again.

These are great Mitra, very useful even for veteran players. A lot has changed in the AI for WL.
