Looking For a Quote

Post by Bullwinkle58 »

There's a famous military quote I used to know, but I cannot find to save my life. I wanted to use it in an AAR, but can't. I had thought it was Napoleon, but I've searched on a lot of variations and no joy.

Something along the lines of "If you mean to take X (a city; Moscow?), then take X."

IOW, don't futz around. Does this ring any bells?

Sounds like Tuco in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: (roughly) "Don't be talking when you should be shooting."

Maybe Guderian - "Klotzen, nicht kleckern". Means "kitchen sink, not piecemeal".
