[ANSWERED] Does CMANO have sound?

I purchased CMANO recently and played my first scenario and really enjoyed it. I later realized there wasn't any sound and I'm now curious to know if there is any sound in the game? I went back and looked at the game requirements and noticed Windows 10 wasn't listed. Since Windows 10 doesn't come with Media Center, is that why I'm not getting sound?

Yes, CMANO has sound.

1) On the Game Options window, under the Sounds and Music tab, ensure that the check boxes for music and sound effects are checked.

2) Does your Windows installation have Windows Media Player installed? CMANO uses some of the WMP components for audio.

The sounds and music boxes are checked. No, I don't have media player installed. Media Player does not come with Windows 10. Still, no sound.

change the defaults in system to alter the default one windows 10 loads




while it says groove music is the recommend one, windows media player is fully working and compatible with windows 10 and comes pre installed with it, but doesn't come set as the default player, while both should have the game codec's to work, trying both will be or could be a option, good luck

(Straying a little off topic) On the subject of in game sounds!

In /Sound/Effects Is there any impact on the game in changing any of the sound files, assuming I kept the name/file type the same?

The airplane_takeoff file sounds very much like some sort of weapon impact .... particularly the Impact_miss_land_large

I've found a few alternative ones but thinking of using a cut down (length) version of this: https://www.freesound.org/people/daveincamas/sounds/199272/

I realise I could just give it a try, but not clear if it would cause any conflicts further down the line that may not initially be obvious.

No, as long as the file names remains as-is there should not be any problem with experimenting.

Found a file I wanted to use, trimmed it down and added some fade in/out then saved as .mp3 and named as aircraft_takeoff.mp3.
Loaded up the air tutorial and just launched everything to get the sound playing.

Backed up the original file just in case but all working.

This is the file I'm using at the moment but want to do a better edit now I know it works as it's a little clipped at the end (remove -NEW if using in the game!).

Trying to keep it to the same 3sec length as the original one.
