Seriously, No Air, AA, and no naval?

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

How can that be that a great game about the greatest campaign in human history has no air/naval/AA units?

why would the greatest land campaign really need detailed naval ?
Same with AA .... Believe is a level or two down in the detail .... don't think WitE which is very detailed has naval or specific AA ...
Relative to air, is a designer choice as to how to incorporate. West front 43-45 would have been important due to the strategic nature .... think Vic & Co struck a good compromise ....

No need for Naval and Air is in the game but done in, yes an abstracted way, but one that works and you do have decisions to make around your air force. To be honest it feels right for the scale your playing at and the role your supposed to be. As for AA prob abit to high a scale for it I think.

Until you play the game it's hard to explain but once you do it becomes apparent that there is no need to be shocked thinking about the Air side and it actually plays well.

The only naval aspect that I think is missing is the Soviet ability to supply and evacuate forces by sea in the Black Sea.

And the Germans to do the same in the Baltic. Both sea areas can be contested.
Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

The Germans have some ability to put supplies through the Baltic in this game through port control. With the Red Navy bottled up in Leningrad, the Baltic was fairly safe for the Axis. The Black Sea was a bit different but for the period covered in the game the Romanians certainly didn't have the strength to contest Soviet control of the Black Sea.
