Do I have the Latest Version? Also, latest AI files?

Post by jimh009 »

Hi,

I guess it is old age sneaking up on me, but I'm a bit confused about what version of AE I have. Or, more particulary, if I have the latest one.

Right now, when I open AE it shows 1.7.11.24.

The latest upgrade in the downloads area is 1.01.24.

I guess I"m confused, since it seems I'm using a later edition of AE than the last update. I do play using the extended map (DaBabes) with the 30% reduction in cargo capacity.

Does DaBabes essentially create its own "version number" of AE??

Secondly, I heard mention in a thread that the AI has some updated scripts. I was wondering where do I find those files and how to go about upgrading it? Or, is upgrading it even possible if I'm using DaBabes?

Thanks from a confused Admiral right now. [&:]

I believe I am using the updated Beta but mine says: 1.7.11.254. This is confusing since my opponent gets 1.7.11.24 and also believes he is on current Beta???

Also can anyone using the chemkid Ext maps tell me if both players need the Chem kid variant?

The Beta patch installer creates a shortcut on the desktop which should be used to start. Directly starting the game executable starts vanilla game version, so does starting via game menu or quick start.

So, is 1.7.11.24 the latest Beta then? Or is it the latest "stock game." I'm more confused now than before!
