PBEM and updates

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

z1812, With the various changes in the engine for combat I would suggest starting a new game. I would think you can finish out an earlier game, but some of the tweaks and changes may impact the remainder of the battle.

We do try very hard to preserve backwards compatibility but in this case Capn Darwin might be right. We should check this explicitly going forward just to be sure.

Thanks for mentioning and nice to see you again, cheers, Rob

Hi Robert,

I am very happy and quite impressed with what you and Jim and the others on the development team have done with FPRS.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Applying the update will screw up your current PBEM games, i have had two go down the pan so finish up before you update.

I was around 20-30 turns in on a couple of games, the game auto updated through Steam.
I logged in to PBEM++ server got played each of my turns.
Got an email from my opponent sating he cannot access the games now as the update had caused some corruption of the files ect.
To be honest i was being slaughtered so i am not too bitter they got corrupted lol.

There is some bug stopping the import of the turns on some systems. We are looking into it. You may be able to replay the game turn once we get this bug located and fixed.
