Yes, it is off topic and yes it is current..

Lets just take a minut to pay our respect to the victims of the 2015-11-14 attacks in Paris, France, Europe...

Close it if you need too.. Just needed to get it of my chest

Just as with 9/11, I do not feel sadness. I feel anger. My heart is with France today.

Such a senseless waste of human life. Very sad. And enraging. Hang in there, France.

Rage was my initial instinct as well. Getting beyond rage is difficult. [:(]

I was playing AE dumb fat and happily while murderous madness was happening a few kilometers away from me. I know well the "Bataclan" music hall where the heaviest loss of life is to deplore and imagine the panic that must has reigned in there and in the bars and restaurants around the Bataclan that were attacked as well. I feel sadness and rage, and yes it will be difficult to overcome that. I'm also a bit afraid since I need to use the public transportation in Paris and it is a potential target, but I will not give them the satisfaction to let fear govern my life. My thoughts are with the bereaved. Thank you from Paris for the solidarity messages.

Well said. None of us should let fear govern our lives.

Our thoughts are with you.

My only fear is it will never end, such senseless slaughter.

It was always a thing with me to get into Manhattan for whatever with the kids while they were still of age to go in with mom and dad. Well one of the things was to get in there around the holidays to see a show. I did it after 9/11, and people were telling me I was nuts. My reply to them was if I didn't do it they win. I understand your fear, but as you say you can't let it govern your life.

When 9/11 happened, I had never been to New York or anywhere close. I didn't know a single person who lived within 500 miles of New York.

But when 9/11 happned, I thought, "Those are my people."

I thought the same thing Friday.

Best wishes to Parisians and all of France.
