Summery

Welcome to my first distant worlds mod, Battlestar Galactica.

Now this mod is vary much work in progress and not at all comparable to some other mods in terms of size or content. This is just my own little personal project to bring the glorious world of battlestar into distant worlds universe.

As I said this mod has some pretty limited content and is mainly just a pet project I felt I wanted to upload so everyone could use it. Please report any/all bugs you encounter and send your suggestions/requests to me.

The current features:

Races:

Cylons.

The Cylon faction is vary much done with ships mostly completed and characters about 40% done.

Humans:

The Human faction is much like the cylons mostly completed with ships/characters working and about 80% done.


Ships:

Both cylon and human ships are completed in terms of pictures/use. I have yet to fully design/name them all.
Ships include:

Galactica Class Battlestar (cruisers)
Mars Class Battlestar (carriers)
Mercury Class Battlestar (capitol ships)
Many CDF Ships... (Frigate/Destroyer/escort)
Many Civilian Ships...

Basestar (Capitol/Cruiser)
Unidentified Cylon ships (Frigate/Destroyer/escort/Carrier)
Many Working Class Ships...

Characters:

Both Cylon and humans characters are mostly completed albeit rushed, I do plan on redoing the characters/portraits.

Currently the Cylon characters are the most incomplete.


Please don't mistake this mod for the one made by heree. Although I do use some base content from his mod (with permissions)these mods are different on the level of compatibility and race content.

How to install:

Open the .rar and drag Battlestar Galactica mod to C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine Ltd\Distant Worlds Universe\Customization and load it up in themes.

More Facility's (Hopefully).
Reworked/More Characters.
Reworked Designs.
More Factions (Hopefully)
First/Second cylon war scenarios.

Oh yes! Bsg mod for DWU. I hope you made a nice total conversion in the end with powerful railgun weaponry.

Yeah, I plan on reworking human/cylon weapons to more match the weapons in battlestar. (Nukes?)

Right now my main objective is to finish designs then characters. After that I will consider adding in AI improvements.

Next update is coming up soon, it will contain:

Finished designs.
more characters.

and (If all goes all) more types of battlestars spread about different designs.

Nice progres! You can be inspired by warhamer40k mod here. They made a nice kinetic weaponry tech tree with coilguns, linear accelerators, mass drivers and macrocanons - railguns.

Yeah. I have been speaking with a few other modders on ways I can incorporate new techs and such, Luckly DW:U Is a vary easy system to work with for modding. It's been pretty easy in terms of the HOW but in terms of the actually doing it, it's has been a bit annoying.

Also I would not use the information from the matrix page as it is highly outdated. Check the ModDB page for downloads/updates. I will try to post here when I have the time.

Heinrick,

I d/l'd v2.0- I like what I saw! Just a couple questions:

1) Just as a test I ran a Human agent to go Deep Cover against the Cylons, was successful and saw the Cylon ships and bases BUT no Cylon planets...?

2) In the Human race description it says their Special Government is Corporate Nationalism but at load up in the Empire Summary Screen it showed the Government as Military Dictatorship; again, intentional or not?

3) Is there any chance you can out the BSG-75 icon in as a Flag?

Hi Twigster.

Thank you for suggesting and reporting these things.

For number one I am not sure as to why you could not see the planets, it's highly likely that it's because of a special race ability or facility.

Number two I have checked on. The humans special government is Corporate Nationalism however the humans also have military dictatorship as a normal government style.

As for number three I will look into adding in custom flags and attempt to push them in the next update/download.

Once again thank you for suggesting and reporting. It's players like you that drive me to want to work on this mod.
