Should'nt JG 300 and JG 301 have access to Bf109g/n and Fw190a-5/u2 airframes for aircraft changes?

right now they do not have access to those airframes, so Wilde Sau will apply to those units in any airframe, got it.

Can this be clarified how it works in the game?

These units will try to intercept night bomb streams over urban areas (it is suggested to place them near large urban areas). If successful they get night detection bonus boosting their performance. It can be affected by the bad weather which is reducing such boost.

They used searchlight illumination to find targets so they really were'nt very successfull.
Also losses were heavy due to the fact they were flying in their own flak zones.

This actually worked quite well, especially in cloudy nights with illumination from below (searchlights, massive fires). With Wilde Sau on-spot Flak alt was usually scaled down a bit to enable their ops.
For some months this was the only option to find enemy bombers due to "Windows" radar blinding ops.
