Aviation Support

Do AA units count as Aviation Support?

If not, does it have to be a HQ unit?

As usual, thanks!!!!

No and no. Aviation support is provided by "aviation support squads". One aviation support squad gives one aviation support. Aviation support squads are typically found in Base Forces and HQ, you can check any units TOE to see how many aviation support squads it has.

Amount of aviation support is doubled if there is an airfield greater than size 8. (Possibly 7)

No to both questions.

Aviation Support provides aviation support.

Not as trite a statement as it may come across.

Aviation Support is a 'device' type.

All Land Combat Units are made up of devices.

You need LCUs with Aviation Support devices to provide aviation support.

Typically these are found in base forces but aviation HQs also have them.

+1
AF size 8, 9 and 10 have double aviation support. (each aviation support squad give 2 aviation support points)
AF size 9 and 10 have no stacking limit for planes.

Of course having unlimited stacking does not mean you should cram as much as you can there. If you do you are just asking for a Bombard TF to come calling one dark and rainy night [X(]

Yeah, Someone posted about 2 years ago, I think, about a Bombardment TF that knocked off something like 150 aircraft or so. Of course I might be remembering incorrectly.....GP
