German FJ Division Mobility

Post by Q-Ball »

I noticed something that makes the German FJ units have very little mobility in the late game. They have a very large vehicle requirement, about 1800 Vehicles fully equipped, roughly half those required for a Panzer Division, and about 2/3 that required for a full strength PzG Division.

Because Germany can struggle to equip out enough vehicles, this will usually knock FJ units down to 8 or 9 MPs, vs. the usual 11-14 for an Infantry Division. Is this WAD?

I know German FJ Divisions were often equipped with motor transport...but they are not motorized units

Shouldn't they either be motorized units, in which case the lack of vehciles should cause a penalty, OR, they are foot infantry and shouldn't need as much?

Seems off....

They are considered non-motorized type 2 units, which means everything except for the para infantry is being moved by vehicles. If they don't have enough vehicles, it will slow the unit down as they have to shuttle their heavy equipment and ammo and supplies.
