CS:ME Background Music

Post by Crossroads »

Update 12 December 2015: The missing background music is now part of CS Middle East 1.01 install. There is no longer a need to download this as a separate mod.

CS:ME Background Music

Not a mod as such, but a set of files that should have been in the original install.

Options - Background Music works in a manner that when it is ticked ON,

[*] there's first a die roll to decide whether to play an ambient combat background tune, or whether a music tune.
[*] If music tune, then a die roll whether a Side A/B specific (depending on which side you're playing), or one of the "neutral" tunes.

As above, there's three sets of tunes, Side A/B tune sets both with an Mid-Eastern twang, fresh out of our Bazaar. For neutral tunes, there's some more generic tunes available.

[*] Download available HERE (17MB)

Download, Unzip, and place the "CSME Background Music" folder into your /mods folder, in my installation:

C:\Matrix Games\Campaign Series Middle East\mods

In a manner as with the example here:

Then, enable using JSGME

Not as such I am afraid. The front end menus don't have any options.

It can be done though, you'd need to replace xbackg1.ogg with an empty file to have no background music there.

Just a small mod for removal of the "Intro Music".

This replace the 'xbackg1.ogg' with this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Silence.ogg
