Driving me crazy

Post by dnewell96 »

I am counting on one of you to remember this because I cannot. Remember at the start of Harpoon ANW when there would be a screen with famous quotes? There
was one about the real objective of naval combat is on the land. To me it was a great quote about keeping your eye on what the real objective is but I'll be darned if
I can remember the exact quote or who said it.

Help me former 'pooners, you're my only hope.

Sounds like something Julian Corbett would have written.

Sir Julian understood machine-age naval warfare far better than the more famous Alfred Thayer Mahan, in my opinion.

I concur. Mahan got proven quite wrong, while Corbett's ideas still are applicable.
