[RESOLVED] Relief layer vs. BMNG

Post by MaB1708 »

I just realized that I seem to have lost track of the different view options. When disabling BMNG and relief layer I get the black harpoonish layout.
Adding the BMNG gives a terrain map layer. The relief layer option does not change anything in neither BMNG nor "black" screen style. Relief layer when activated as the only option gives only the black "harpoon"-style map.
What actually is the use of the "relief layer"?
Thanks,
Martin

Just tried this in the current RC.

Sorry, not seeing this behavior. When only the relief layer is activated, you should see this: http://imgur.com/dDThU6d

Anyone else having the same issue?

Sometimes it takes a few seconds to show the change in layer. And sometimes it takes a zoom or scroll to get the change to show. I never considered it a big deal because it eventually shows.

Dimitris, wood,

I had also expected what you had expected. It was mentioned in an attempt to give the complete picture.
But with "relief layer" active I only see a dark-harpoonish map.
And I know about the delay every now and then and of course gave it time to readjust and some in- and out-zooming.

Pls have a look at my settings - no relief on the map. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Martin

A relief terrain map I get with these settings. I mainly only used terrain map for all my COMMAND years but just these days thought about what the BMNG vs relief setting actually does...

This is indeed perplexing. It's also infuriating because we cannot reproduce the issue locally and thus track it down [:@]

Have you tried a complete reinstall? Maybe something got messed up somewhere along the way?

I did a complete re-install (was a little unwilling as the issue was not really severe) and now everything is working the way it should.
Thanks for looking into the issue and Tomcat thanks for pushing me towards the ultima ratio!

Cheers,

Thanks! Relieved it was probably not a program fault.

If it was, you would have tackled it, as usual.
Thank you!
