Art Mods

Post by rroberson »

Sadly I was forced to wipe and reinstall windows on my PC this weekend (and made the upgrade to 10). All my games got the axe....including WITP. I have reinstalled WITP but my many many art mods are long gone. I was curious to know what some of the better must have art mods you guys recommended. I have perused the design and modding forum and grabbed a few...but is there anything you guys can't live without?

Are you looking for map art? More important in my mind, makes playing much easier on the eye.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a cleaner map...I think I use to use one of Andrew Brown's but I have no idea where I found it, I'm sure there are others out there though...

I've been using one of his that has faint dots for each sea hex, makes it easier to count.

Sample art links
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3142195&mpage=1&key=

All of the sepia colored bitmaps reworked to show color pics.
Most updated previously, the ones on the sample page of my google site are the initial sets.
The recent ones for ground bitmaps and TF missions are much improved over the initial release.

Free to modders, or anyone interested.

Glad you like them, once you get used to the insignia and bitmap changes, it'll help you to identify units faster.

It's especially useful to the Japanese player when trying to locate those pesky Airborne and special engineer units.
The unit insignia for the Japanese support units are by branch specialty.
It makes the flak and port engineers easier to locate, when you're scrolling through your stacks of LCU's.

Thanks, the Nipponese IJNAAF squadron and IJAAF squadron and LCU branch art are all my babies.

Davepac did the IJN ship emblem.

Reg did the IJN ship emblem.

Bump...

Which was a blatant rip off of Divepacs artwork... (credited though it is perhaps forgotten).

At least we have that to remember him by. [:(]

Could you credit Divepac in future please.
(I just worked out how to make it a ship emblem).

Cheers,
Reg.

Another person to remember is Cobra for his audio mods for classical WITP which if I understand correctly, can also be used in AE.

Sorry, been a few years.

The naval crest bitmap belongs to the Aussie crew with Divepac's leadership.

There you go Reg...

This is a great thread - thanks for the information provided!

I have been looking around for mods of the ship arts but --so far-- wasn't really successful (which is strange). Is there any such mod that modifies the side-views of all the ships?

Thanks a lot!
