Slightly Large Problem

OK, I downloaded pacificwarv3-2 to my laptop along with DOSbox 0.74. OK, so far so good. I fired everything up and started a game with myself as Japanese.
worked fine in the DOSbox window but when I hit ALT-Enter to go full screen, everything simply stopped and the mouse doesn't work.

When I hit ALT-Enter again to go back to the DOSbox window, everything works fine.

Anybody have any suggestions about how I might fix this?

I don't have much experience with laptops, but I'll try to help.

First, what is your laptop's resolution?
Second, what are your display settings in dosbox.conf?


Example:

fullscreen=true
fullresolution=1920x1080
windowresolution=original
output=overlay

IIRC, PacWar is a sixteen-bit program. 16-bit software isn't supported on a 64-bit Windows OS. You might want to see if you can put a partition on your HD that runs 32-bit Windows.

Frankly, mate, I'm amazed that you got it to run at all.

Maybe try adding a mouse command to your dosboxpac.conf file. I have to give it a left click to activate it, after I get a full screen automatically when I start the game. ("autolock=true").

My shortcut looks like this:
Target= "C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72\dosbox.exe" -conf "C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72\dosboxpac.conf"

Start in = "C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72"

Run: Normal Window.

dosboxpac.conf contains the following lines:

Thank you guys. I put in Istfemer's suggestion with a different resolution and it works perfectly.

With Dosbox, you can run just about anything from the DOS era on just about any computer. I run PacWar on my 64-bit Linux work laptop.
