SIG BANNER RESIZE???

Post by TOMLABEL »

Hey guys...not on the forum a whole lot these days, but why has the signature banner size been severely shrunken? I can hardly make out the text on my banner. Is it just me?

Here is the size that used to display.

The torpedo protection on Alabama not so good. Was everyone aware that the Italian BB's torpedo bulges were filled with al dente spaghetti?

Anyways, the failing eyesight in this particular forum will not be pleased with this change.

I can't read it. Before complaining about anything, consider the repercussions.

I was asking for an option to hide it so that I don't have to view it, not to force a resize for everyone.

Well, I can understand your point of view, but this has resulted in some "unintended" consequences for the rest of us - especially all of us who have become somewhat visually impaired over time. For us, it is far easier to see "who" is posting a response based on their sig as to trying to read their names or pulling out the glasses to do so. A lot of us aren't spring chickens anymore although we may wish we were or try to act like we are.[:D]

I would respectfully ask that you rescind your request/recommendation to Matrix until they can come up with an appropriate solution that would hide the banners from a user upon request. I have no problem with that option.

Thank you.

Expressed my displeasure over on the General thread. Wasn't mean or nasty, even used please/thank you. If you want it changed back, you need to let the admins know.

I am sure we will iterate to get to a solution which makes everyone happy/equally unhappy [:)]

Unfortunately, yes, you are quite right. Why is this a solution? I really hate to be an arse about this, but being a forum member for 9 years and also contributing in a small way to the (former) company Matrix and one of its games, I don't understand how this resolves the issue.

JiminyJickers was asking if there was a way to hide the signature pics - not resize them, not eliminate them, or distort them.

Respectfully, unless this company can find a way for a user to hide them, why modify them at all? I see that a re-size was done, but how is this a solution? I still cannot fully read mine much less anyone else's text contained within the sigs. How is that somehow "fair" to the rest of us when, obviously the company does not have a solution to JiminyJickers request. To penalize the rest of us with an action that accomplishes neither is truly mind-boggling!

What has been done is neither a solution to JiminyJickers' inquiry nor for the forum members who have searched out artist (or took it upon themselves) to create a piece of artwork to attach to their account that shows support and loyalty to a game that they truly love and have sacrificed a lot of time playing. Time that they have otherwise could have spent somewhere else. Those sigs are truly sort of a 'badge of honor' to a lot of us and a show of loyalty to this company and the game/s that they love.

During the years that I have been a member of this forum, I have never seen such a derisive action taken like this against a majority of the members who follow the rules (for the most part) and continue to support this company and its products.

I have just one question though, and then I am done - How is my avatar not more offensive to someone or the company than the SIZE of my supportive and loyal signature pic?

Therefore, until a solution can be developed that specifically satisfies JiminyJickers inquiry, I respectfully ask that the signature pics be restored to their original width and height sizes.

Thank you.
