As I said. I bought it, played it and refunded it.

It was the first time in my steam history that I wanted my money back.

Have you written a review for "Colonial Conquest"? I'd like to read it if you have. Are you the owner/moderator of "7idGaming"? Could you post a link to your Steam page? Thanks.

Patrick

No. Ive not written a review. Colonial Conquest might be ok for 2 Euros but not more.

Only five countries in the world (USA, France, Britain, Germany, Japan). After 5 Minutes I owned all of africa with germany while Japan colonialized Cuba and Australia. France and Britain did nothing. Refunded the game 20 Minutes later after Timbuktu defeated my 200 divison strong german colonial army hehe

I would have to mention that this particular game has an absolutely dreadful patching process if you get it on Gamersgate. If you already have the game I guess it doesn't matter, but if you get it on Steam it automatically updates to the latest version, no hassle at all.

I own the Matrix version Read the update info in the forum Would still rather go through that than give Steam any money. Will pay more at Gamersgate just to avoid Steam.

+1 Hating on Steam is an exercise in futility. Steam doesn't care about the loss of money to Gamer's Gate and you are only limiting your own options for convenient updating and game portability. I like having all my new games in one convenient place and not scattered around between various smaller operations like Direct2Drive and Gamer's Gate etc.

Steam has become a "to big to fail" entity now while remember how Direct2Drive turned into Gamefly which died and then got resurrected recently as Direct2Drive but they really can't compete with Steam on price so I doubt they will last. I've got a half dozen games registered with them and two of them have registration issues due to shifting ownership. At least Steam gives you one place to complain to without getting a "pass the buck" routine like I got with "East India Company" and "Trafalgar" (Nitro Games).

But it's your money to spend as you wish [:)]

Get just about all if not all of the Might and Magic games for $10 and many of them for just $1 if you don't want the big bundle. This by far has to be one of the best bundles I've ever seen for the rpg area.

The Humble Bundle this week presents a rather unique opportunity. It includes Gamemaker Studio Pro in the $6 tier, and if you get the $12 tier, the Gamemaker Module for exporting to Android. These two items alone cost $450 at their normal full price. That's about a 97% off discount. You also get a bunch of games and their source code to presumably poke around in while learning to make games.

Watch out Matrix, I might just make the next killer wargame! Or not. Probably not.
