Southern Storm

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Southern Storm

Post by Deathtreader »

Hi,

Was just wondering whether the next iteration will support multiple nationalities per side.... such as US/French forces vs. Soviet/East German forces. I guess it would be difficult for the engine to have multiple national characteristics to account for, and different command delays for each nationality within a side, and some friendly units not able to re-subordinate to others, friction between troops and doctrine et al between allied formations (or even mixed allied formations) etc. etc. but still would be cool if Southern Storm is planned to go down that road.
Just wondering.

Rob.
So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)

Rob, simple answer is yes. Some of the points on nation command values and mechanics are being discussed now in team calls. At a minimum, one force will be lead command element.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
