So What's on your Matrix shopping list?

Post by 76mm »

I have to say that Matrix has really figured out how to push my buttons... Their upcoming spate of "revamped" older games has added several games to my "to buy" list, including:
--The Campaign Series: Middle East 1948-1985
--TOAW IV
--Steel Tigers
--and maybe Tigers on the Hunt.

I won't really have time to play all of these games, but assuming they are well-done, I'll have to pick up all of them...

Steel Tigers almost certainly.

TOAW IV depending on how many changes there are. I've only scratched the surface of TOAW III but wouldn't mind upgrading if it makes the game more modern.

GG's WitW if it goes on sale for a good price.

Have my eye on Star Hammer, but reviews seem mixed. Anyone know if it has improved?

I'm looking at that Pike and shot series. I'll be buying Ageod's title on the 30 years war.

CMANO was just on sale for a normal AAA game price, probably the best deal you will get anytime soon. It's worth it! New, significant updates come out regularly plus at least a dozen new scenarios every few weeks.

As a beta tester of Tigers on the Hunt I can highly recommend it.

I've never actually played Harpoon but my understanding is yes, it's a much improved iteration of that genre. It has pretty much everything you could think of when it comes to air and naval combat from WW2 to the near future, plus a little ground combat stuff.

Oh, really? How little?

I used to play Harpoon a long time ago. I liked it. But as far as I can remember, there was no ground combat there.

Very little, I think it's just that there are ground units, but their activities are mostly abstracted. I believe there was discussion about the possibility expanding on this a lot at some point.

Just to clarify, it really covers from POST-WW2 to near future; while it has some WWII stuff (mainly US), it is missing a lot.

But I agree that it is a great game with an impressively wide scope.

My steam backlog is technically in double digits, I can wait as long as it takes for them to reach the price I've decided I'll pay for them even if that turns out to be never.

SoW:GB anniversary edition.

I hope it is offered at a discount. It would be good to see it available through Steam, also.
