In Oregon and Washington State a local insurance company has quite a few ads about how we're a bit different in this corner of the world.

When my SO first saw the wool sock and sandals commercial, she swore she would never, ever do that. Then I caught her doing it about six months later. Going to the beach on the Pacific coast really is like the first commercial. Even in Los Angeles the water is cold enough the surfers usually wear wet suits.

For those in the water I have no solution except to swim ashore. For the person in the para-glider, however, I should think a consistent pull on one of the
steering lines should eventually turn the aft of the boat around. OTH, when closing the shore.....[8|]...he (she) better find out fast the way he is going.
