[FIXED Pre-1.11] Sterett in the Gulf of Thailand, 1977 -- new beta for testing

Post by Mgellis »

My newest scenario beta...

It is 1977 and Vietnam is threatening shipping in the Gulf of Thailand. An American SAG, centered on the cruiser Sterett must escort American-flagged ships out of the Gulf.

As always, please let me know what you think. Comments, suggestions, corrections of errors, etc. are all welcome. Thanks in advance. Enjoy!

Version 2 uploaded at 1:00 PM EST 5/29/15. Puffer replaced with four F-4s based out of Surat Thani.

Any idea why I can't drag course waypoints in this scenario, Mark? I've tried both iterations and I have to plot new courses every time I want to make a correction. Using 678.3.

Hmmm...I just opened it up and tried it and did not have that problem. Let's see if anyone else has the same issue. It's possible something happened when I saved the file to a .zip; if so, I'll make sure to update it before I send in any final version.

I restarted everything and there are times I can and times I can't. May be an artifact of the map/location? Strange.

Seems ok, Primarchx which group or ship course are you trying to change?

Are you trying to drag the course of the merchants maybe? They are allies.

No, definitely my ships. Just selecting the waypoint (turns yellow) but then it refuses to budge. Or it does move. I see this every once in a while in a scenario.

What kind of mission is it assigned to? Plotted?

Is it engaged offensive or defense or anything like that?

Ok think I see something. Sending to D.

Its game engine I think not scenario related.

I have the same problem, unable to drag a waypoint. For the Sterett Group, which shows status "On Plotted Course".

Well, correction - I sort of can move waypoints sometimes. Can't figure out when.

Additionally, Define area does not seem to work, at least right after loading the scenario.

I'm having the same problem with both way points and reference points.

Has the issue been resolved?

Also, any other comments or suggestions for the scenario at this point?

Thanks.

I think this will require a Command update to resolve the problem. Other than that, nothing obvious is amiss, but the scenario is difficult to play given that the only reliable way to adjust patrol area is to re-create the mission.

Lots of performance improvements and smarter navigator in v1.11. The scenario seems to run file.

Hi:

I had no waypoint issues, but I´ve found better to maneuver the ships separately, not as a group. That added more flexibility to respond to the threats.
As usual, Mark´s scenarios have surprises for the unfocused players.
I´ve got a major victory, but at the price of losing a Knox class FF.

Great play!
