GD1938 Game 20

RE: GD1938 Game 20
The Germans and Soviets are trading blows on what has become the "East Front", as Germany is at war with France and Great Britain too.
RE: GD1938 Game 20
The China-USA alliance is in a peaceful building up of their armed forces and economy of wartime. The Japanese have been true to their word of slowly withdrawing and turning Chinese cities and territory back over to the Chinese. Tensions are rising within China between Mao and Chiang!
(newbie question - How do you give another country territory/cities in ATG?)

There is a button towards the end of your buttons on the bottom on the right it is a square in pink I think. We can not exchange troops or supply in this game as it was not turned on. But of course you can trade land.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
RE: GD1938 Game 20
I see it. Good to know. When you say exchange troops (if it was turned on), do you mean your exchanged troops are then controlled by the other country, and can attack/defend with them?

The Soviet Union is taking horrific losses against the Germans, and Italian troops have been spotted in the south.
We are trying to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.

You can normally give an ally troops either by transferring an entire unit or headquarters with assigned units or by transferring sft's to his headquarters or units. This includes supplies to hqs. But Bombur made that a choice with the new build.ORIGINAL: baloo7777

Actually that was my choice to make this. Bombur did not see the need. I did it because a player requested it.

Well I don't like it. There is absolutely no justification for denying allies the ability to help each other. Yet a few people always want it. Where would the Soviets or the British be without American help? All the germany ninor allies received materials from Germany as well.

RE: GD1938 Game 20
It is an option that you can have or not, so players can discuss it before the game, and decide what they want. Nobody is forcing anybody to play with or without it. Options are a good way to make changes that designers do not agree on. The default setting is you cannot simply give up materials and men to an ally, and it was made that way because at least two people (me and the person who suggested I looked into it) found that something was wrong with the way things worked at the present time.
Your beef btw, should not be with me, it should be with yourself for not arguing well enough to get it turned on, before the game was begun. As is options are always dealt with this way...

I did get it turned on then due to other things the game never went forward.

The Fascists have joined the war on the side of the Nazis.
We heartily congratulate the glorious Royal Navy on a victory over the Kreigsmarine near the Danish straits!

The US 8th Air Force has landed in England! We intend to help turn the tide for our British allies.

The Japanese make good progress towards Ulan Ude, the Soviet resistance has been light so far, we expect the Soviets will begin to get tough soon.

Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
RE: GD1938 Game 20
Here is a better picture of the Japanese advance. We identified seven armored formations, all large, all heavy, this
looks like a very significant part of the Japanese military.

Something fishy in the Balkans, perhaps the Germans can explain to the Italians again the house rules on Declarations of War on nations loyal to your allies, then immediately offering peace. Bulgaria being the case in point.[:-]
The Japanese capture Ulan Ude making good progress to the Siberian Coal Fields at Irkutsk.
Peking the Chinese Capitol will be returned to China next month.

The house rule has been mentioned in the Spanish case a while back. Rather takes the Soviets aback to have such an occurrence.
The Soviets have enough trouble already without this, I assure you.

The Soviet Union could really use some help from friendly nations.
The Axis powers will formidable if they conquer us.
A second front would be appreciated.

Apologies all. I'm playing Italy. The DOW of war was the result of my foolishness once again. As soon as I did it, I realized I was at war with my ally so I thought I'd better offer peace.
How exactly are you supposed to know which minor is whose ally? Is it whatever major country has the most diplomatic influence?

There is a card that lets you check the status of minor powers it cost nothing and will tell you who is the nation that is friendliest to that minor, I thought that is what happened, but since we are both Axis players I am not the injured party, its the hard pressed Allied players who will grind and gnash teeth[:)]
