how to upload screen shots

Post by nardiajn »

Hi all -

I have created my first ever AAR...but, on windows 8, how do I
a) take a screen shot
b) put wording into that screen shot (show my TFs) where they are heading..etc.. (like most of the other AARs)
c) upload it to the site (so you can see what the heck I am talking about)

and of course...
thanks !!!

I'm sure somebody has a better way, but for me I just use "print screen" and paste the capture to powerpoint. Then add whatever words and arrows. Save the final powerpoint slide as a jpg. pic.

then use post reply (not fast reply) which has an option to embed picture on post. It will then allow you to select the saved jpg and attach it to your post.

Snipping Tool which comes with windows I believe is also a great tool. Can allow snipping of set area eliminating borders and extra if you want. Saves as multiple types and then you can add the extra as mentioned above.

You can also use MS Paint. Or you can download and use Gimp, which is neat, but I prefer Photoshop. It's just cleaner. The basics are easy. If you have access, let us know... Obvert (speaking for you, bud!) or I can probably give you some pointers.

There's Paint.NET as well if you want to be spoiled for choice...
