I asume that the 12 turns per day represent 12 combat moments divided in 2 minutes turns (maybe bigger turns for night???) this made that you can fight in a day 12 times using the tactical time scale of 2 minutes... i am correct here??? if is like this i think that you are not forced to fight in the 12 turns, you can fight in a day even 0 turns if you and enemy dont attack.

Yes, you don't have to fight every turn. The 8 turns per day and 4 turns per night are numbers I came up with as an average. In real WW2 campaign, some days saw more combat than others...same goes for the night.
"An AFV can be in Stunned, Shocked, Unconfirmed Kill, Bogged, Mired or Immobilized State. I don't keep track of minor damage to either the vehicle components or the crew - meaning there is no concept of commander, gunner driver. All will be explained in the manual :)"

Ok, then is not posible have a tank neutralized destroying their main gun or reducing ROF (shots per turn) with a hit over loader.

correct, however all weapons can break down during combat so your light machine gun, anti-tank gun or the AFV main armament will need to be repaired in order to function again.
I like the point of unconfirmed kill and talking about kills... units have a list with the kills they score???

Thanks.

Unconfirmed Kill is state of a vehicle. Units do not have list of kills...
PD: the game is centered in 43-45 period no??? you talk about no blitzkrieg... this include Barbarrossa and the 42 battles in east???.

41 - 45 for Eastern Front; 43-45 for Western Front and there is also late Med front support. There is no real support for blitzkrieg (1940) on the western front because I don't have french nationality in the game. Only German/Russian/American/British nationalities at this point. If the game sells well I will add French/Italian nationalities as well as early western front vehicles. You can still do blitzkrieg in France 1940, it's just that you can only use British forces with support weapons, ordnance (guns) without tanks.

Peter,

Will the system use "real" data for weapon systems and armor like Steel Panthers? I hope so!!! [&o]

I used real world data, however I have abstracted the numbers in my game engine. Same thing as you see in say Panzer 2nd edition from GMT, or ASL or LnL Band of Heroes boardgames. However these numbers will be hidden, as I want the players to focus on strategy and tactics rather than number crunching exercise of calculating shifts and DRMs. Personnel units will have some information on the counters to indicate stuff like firepower class, morale (for the leaders morale bonus).

First of all, thanks for the reply!

Nice! I have Panzer (3 modules) and the Band of Heroes games, so I understand what you mean [:)]

Finally.

A squad based, tactical WWII game for the PC that harkens back to the great board game ones most of us know. The Tiller Squad Battles games are generally great, and HoS was fantastic- but something this wide ranging fills a big gap. I have great hopes for this one.

Peter

While we all wait with baited breadth for some announcement/screenshots from Matrix, a quick question.

It sounds good that, at the harder levels, units can only execute defensive fire, given that they are out of command and cannot be given further orders.

Is it, or will it be possible, to limit intelligence from those same units insofar as they would be unable to contribute to the big picture of what the player can see of enemy units? This would go a long way in helping to reduce the godlike view that the player has in most tactical level wargames.
Cheers

James,

There are three levels of difficulty in the game:

Easy - Your units are always in command; AI units have to check for command and control rules
Medium - both sides have to check for command and control rules
Hard - Your units check for command and control, AI units are always in command

If one of your units is out of command, all that unit can do defend its position.

Currently, all units(in and out of command) contribute towards fog of war. Perhaps I can add advanced fog of war feature in the future, and consider out of command units contribution towards FOW differently. Interesting idea James...thanks for your thoughts :)
