Semi OT: Finaly saw "The Eternal Zero" - worth watching!

Post by Apollo11 »

Hi all,

I got some nasty cold with sore throat and finally managed to see the "The Eternal Zero" ("Eien no 0") from 2013!

www.imdb.com/title/tt2404217

IMHO it is worth watching and, for me, the best of all recent Japanese WWII movies I have seen.

"Isoroku Yamamoto, the Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet and Admiral Yamamoto – The Untold Story of the Pacific War" ("Rengô kantai shirei chôkan: Yamamoto Isoroku") from 2011

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1932695

"Yamato " ("Otoko Tachi No Yamato") from 2005

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451845

"For Those We Love" ("Ore wa, kimi no tame ni koso shini ni iku") from 2007

The IMDB description is hilarious. "A young woman and his brother explore the history of their grandfather, who died in the WW2. They start contacting his colleges who knew him, asking them about his personality." I had no idea the Japanese were that open minded and tolerant. [:D]

I was laughing so hard about the first error to catch the second. How did they go about collecting his colleges? I don't know any colleges who know anyone either, unless it's the fabled University of Phoenix. [:D][:D]
