German and British forces fought together against communists in Crete? I think immediately after the war.

the place where this happened is just 10km from where I live and people that were in younger ages by '45 very well know about that incident and it was by far not as spectacular than what the film or the recent news make out of it.

actually, the SS were also - very very mostly - Germans. Maybe you want to re-phrase this as 'US army and Wehrmacht fighting against SS' ?
