July/August 44 Allies impulse 1 ( impulse 2 ) Fine weather

US supercombined, CW and Russia land

US ground strikes Truk with land and Carrier planes in large numbers. Truk had already been placed OOS by US SUB action.

Only two attacks in France and two in Hungary/Yugoslavia border regions leaves Belgrade under siege.

A single attack in Russia knocks out a hole in the German lines which otherwise are holding for now.

A number of aircraft flew for strikes and interceptions with only minor loases for both sides.

Italy and Japan combined. Germany land Ochit on Model in France

Japan sends out convoy with escort to resupply Truk but the convoy was sunk by US SUBs

Germany again retreasts in Russia although now desperately and no longer able to hold a solid line.

July/August 44 Allies impulse 3 ( impulse 6 ) Fine except N Monsoon rain.

All land. US Ochit on Eisenhower

More ground strikes with a few planes lost on both sides.

CW crosses the northern Seine river and US attacks just eat of Paris leaving the city almost surrounded.

Other US attack sends a spearhead east to the German border in France.

Russia knocks holes in the German lines again now leaving the German lines hopelessly inadequate and the Germans will have to run as fast as they can to save at least some troops.

The European front

YEs, quite similar to the other global war game from last year.

There are horrendous destroyed units this turn although almost as many units coming in as reinforcements for the Sep/Oct turn.

I am wondering how different it would be if not solitaire.
