DaBigBabes Update v015

Post by US87891 »

The Big Babes scenarios are being updated on the website. BigBabes v015 contains corrections to the errors mentioned in these threads as well as some others. Mostly OOB and TOE database pointer errors and a few Device incongruities.

Is it possible to get a changelog for updating Babes-based spin-off mods?

Don’t have a full changelog because it’s full of teensy weensy things, found over time. Most are minimal and are a no-brainer to fix on-the-fly whenever you may run into one, but there are a few high points that have been noted, on the forum, that have given folks some heartburn. Here’s the highpoint list.

44th, 45th, 46th, 75th, 84th Indian Brigades – Ind 41 (Inf Only) Bde, added in TOE slot 2845. Make sure the OOB Brigades point to 2845 in TOE ID field. Others mentioned in Jim Burn’s post point to 2846, which is correct.

19th and 44th Aus Bns TOE ID field should be 2706. Then click “Use TOE” to fix the ’44 squads.

There were two Aus Brigades with ’44 squads on opening day, forgot which ones, but step down the OOB and when you see an Aus Brigade with ’44 squads, just click “Use TOE” to fix. The brigade TOE IDs are correct (I think, hope, pray).

9th Australian Div removed from OOB (slot 7975). Units are already present as component brigades, RAA regiments, etc.

9th Indian Div - Indian 41 (1 Brit) Div, added in TOE slot 2748. Make sure the 9th Indian Div has 2748 in the TOE ID field.

503rd Parachute Rgt – Make sure TOE ID field points to 2456. Then check your Device file. The US Para Squad is device 1106 – it upgrades to US Para Squad 44 (device 1107) – US Para Squad 44 upgrades to itself (device 1107). If it upgrades to device 1119 it MUST SIMPLY MUST be changed to upgrade to itself (device 1107, or whatever). Otherwise you will get a swift upgrade of the infantry of your Para Rgt to AmphSupSquads, not goodnik, AmphSup don’t jump.

This one was found when working this issue with Dave Conn. It has implications for all sorts of Device Upgrade flows. It’s a particular weirdness that’s allowed by the code and will let items (objects) jump ahead of what would normally be an intervening, date specified, object. A PITA to fix in code because it is an editor data function, but it is easy to find, and apply prophylaxis, in data. Full details on request.

That’s about it. Any specific questions, feel free to ask. Ciao. JWE
