Range is function of endurance, which defines how far you can fly. Range/3 - mission range, Range/4 - escorting range.

Thanks Helpless.Where in the manual is that info?

Also when I click on an air unit I get a green and purple ring.

Does Smaller Green ring = Escort range as shown?

Larger Purple ring = mission range.

So does it work like this/
Consider italian AB Littoria. Supply 21/20, fuel 250/300

Air unit is Fw190G Loadout 1*500KG +2*250Kg bombs
Radius 124 miles
On air tranfer map and selecting this unit I get a Purple line which is 11 hexes in radius from the air unit.Is this the max sortie range of this unit.?

For a Bf109G-14. Range 134 miles.
I get green circle 9 hexes in diameter,
purple circle 13 hexes " "
So is this max sortie range for non-escort (13) and escort range (9) ?

So is all this correct??

Thankyou for your patience.

Yes, I think it is documented in player's handbook - guide 4.
So is all this correct??

Basically yes. I'm just not sure what you mean by max sortie range.

Yes, I think the purple line is the max range when not escorting (bombing, reconning, etc.).
All understanding comes after the fact.

Thanks for replies.
What I meant by "sortie range" was the distance in hexes or miles that an air unit can travel to perform it`s assigned mission.
