I need help getting Ground Support to work-please help

Post by tiger111 »

It`s mid 44. Main 43-45 campaign. Playing as axis. using beta patch 1/00.21 against AI Normal difficulty.

Question.
I`m unable to get any ground support sorties against allied ground unit.

Using auto GS. selecting HIGH on Meditteranean Tac area (italy)and executing AD set button.

or Manually. i select HQ-Luftflotte (south can`t remember 2 or 3 off hand)and selecting 10th Army in S.italy. Alowing Auto select of forces and confirm.

If I use either of the methods above I get NO GS sorties.

The forces I`ve deployed in Luftflotte are
4 Tac Bombers FW190G,1 Level Bomber Ju-88, Fighters,as escort, Bf109G-6.
Pilot and unit morale >70,All within range -9 hexes)
Any ideas.?
What I really want is to use auto creation of Ground Support. Thanks

GS can be turned off by hitting the x key.

Make sure at the top of the screen it says GS-Enabled...and not GS-Off.

GS is turned on.

So if I have no manual Ad`s for GS will GS still be performed? Is it similar to FB`s intercepting enemy raids even under no manaul AD.?

Are your aircraft within range of the front? If they are not within range, they will not fly. Use the AI Air Move button with AI AD generation to get the best results that way.

Other things to check is air base supply levels, plane readiness, and the weather.

That does sound odd. I've had no problem getting GS to work in my BG Italy scenario. Just selected manual AD, the air command and the allotted HQ and the selected air groups. GS turned on when I needed them in the ground phase and boom they turn up

Yes I think they are in range lookong at the green/purple rings-the front line is well within the shorter radius circle.-also by looking at the stats radius in miles is range in hexes divided by 10.

I want to use GS with auto AD creation.
