unkillable unit?

Post by loki100 »

This odd NKVD unit has been in the same location for the last 2 turns, I think it was routed from the Finnish border on T5. I can't disband or move it over T6 or T7. Its of no real importance apart from the possibility it will stop any German attempts to cut off Leningrad from Lake Ladoga if it really is fixed in place.

happy to supply a save if needed.

What does it mean it is not possible to "move it over T6 or T7"?

I guess it's too close to enemy to be disbanded automatically.

edit: I also think such units can be relocated when enemy moves near, so it won't be a problem when the Germans come.

It should have 8 MP even as routed, so something is not right.

0 MP makes it non-eligible for disband.

Edit: Is it still frozen? Mouse over or CR should tell.

That could be it -- it may have routed into a frozen area so it is stuck for a few turns until the Finns get closer.

sorry suffering major internet connection problems so some messages become cryptic.

It routed from the Finnish border on T4/5 and arrived where it currently is. Its been frozen for both T6 and T7 so I've not been able to move or disband. Germans are still not over the Luga so I don't think its too close to axis units

just done a mouse over and it comes up as Fzn 4, so I wonder if it was routed in a frozen state (a terrible fate [;)]) and that has somehow become fixed?

Perhaps a routed unit should be unfrozen immediately. I'll look at this. Send me the save so it will be easier to test.

By the way - to rally, a routed unit must be more than 9 hexes away from enemy units. I guess the Finns are blocking rally in this case.
Which doesn't change the fact that I must unfreeze routed units.

Really? Me thinks you are mixing up a status code or something. Perhaps there are extra chances to rally if > 9 hexes from enemy. But I have had units rally when w/i 5 or 4 hexes.

Once again you caught me on being imprecise, there were ORs in the condition, not ANDs. This is just one condition, three others require random(range to hq) to be less than 6 (for three HQs up the chain of command).
