Slow performance!

Post by IronWarrior »

Anyone else get slow performance running this game? I was able to play through Husky a couple of times without a hitch, but anything larger than that makes my PC cry. Loaded up the other 4 turn tutorial scenario focused on strategic bombing and it slowed down to a crawl. Currently playing Breakout, but really slows down at times, especially during Air Planning.

What are the specs of your PC ? What version do you play? When exactly is slows down during air execution?

My PC is very old, but I don't see any major performance issues during Air Planning.

Hi,

Running with a AMD X3 450 3.20, Nvidia GTS 450, 4GB RAM, on Win 7. Might be something on my end as I just realized my top exhaust fan has stopped. :D TBH, it doesn't seem like a heat issue though as it seems to clear up and then come back again (instead of getting progressively worse and shutting down), very strange. Mostly slows down during setting parameters during Air Planning phase as I say, then seems to clear up for while etc. back and forth.

Well, if no one else is reporting anything, maybe just something my end. Not so slow to be unplayable at least. :)

OK, I figured out what was causing the lag. The overlay boxes for AD's plus the AA overlay would make the game crawl for me. As long as I turn those off when not using them, it's all gravy... so no big deal. :)

Hmm. My old overclocked E8400 does it just fine. Some overlays can be CPU intensive especially on max zoom out.
