The Front Line reports that the current line is at 174 vs the historical front line at 181. So the Eastern Front is seven hexes better than historical. Which means that the first turn of each month the Allies should be getting some Eastern Front VPs. Berlin falls when the front line reaches 141 - so 33 hexes to go!

You are currently at the Fluid condition so you are not too bad off there. The number of divisions is greater than the required number so no penalty from that. The HQs are also above requirement levels so you are getting some bonuses from that. But the Soviet Potential is +12 so be ready to see the front line move closer to Berlin soon.

A question for the developers : Is there value to the developers in running this scenario out to see what happens with the East Front? Because as the Allies this game has become something of a bore :-) Each turn I fly thousands of missions and wait (quite a while) as they are resolved, look around to see if there are any attacks to be made (I made one last turn with a rested up Cdn Corps to no great effect.

I don't mind continuing if the development team wants to collect some data but if not the time could be better spent elsewhere.

What's the date please? My EF is 50% stronger than yours; it's Dec 23, 1944, and Warsaw just fell in my game.

How may EF VPs have the Allies gained to-date?

You have over 1,000 av less than I do, and I don't feel the difference is much, other than I would sure like to have 1,000 more AV to use against Meklore in the West.

It would be good to see how this plays out, although I realize it might not be much fun. We have changed things in the latest public beta version, but it would be good to know the baseline. The only thing is that if the Germans were to start transferring things East, they will gain more from this with the public beta than what they were losing as they pulled units to the west in the older version so that would not help. I sure hope that the Soviets will pick up speed. Since the "historical" value only changes on the first of each month, the first turn of the month is the best to show to see how far off historical the front line is.

According to my play test where I played both sides, kept the Allies from doing anything, and had the Axis pulling everything it could from the eastern front, the game ended in Jan 45 with an Allied Major Victory from the early ending VP bonus and the East Front VP awards alone.

Ok, no problem. I just didn't want to keep going if it wasn't helpful. No problem to continue on.

It's Dec 2, 44. Wishing the Russians would move a little faster. Situation unchanged elsewhere. It's snowing everywhere but Italy, where it's raining.

Not much action across the fronts. A look at the weather map tells the story. Combine the weather with a three deep defensive line of German divisions and not much is happening. Building snowmen, wrapping presents.

And to think I've been bombing the crap out of railroads. It is winter though, with snow, so planes don't always fly.

Nothing like wading ashore from the North Sea on Christmas Day, eh? I see at least one Abn division made it. Don't know yet whether the others were defeated or aborted their drops due to the weather (should have been 2 division and the Polish brigade dropped)
