In Western Europe, Germany storms into Lille and re-enters a deserted Luxembourg after being pushed out the month before.

In S.France, Italian artillery pounds the French positions with significant (French) losses. Marseilles gets a pounding
from Italian infantry and armor but still they stand their ground. The Royal Navy also appears to be snooping around all over the
place.

In N.Africa the overall situation for the Italians is not encouraging (to say the least).

I'm back up and running! Lost most of my games due to computer problems. Got ATG going again and played my Jap turn.

When I try to run GD38Japangame18turn12.at2 from a copy from the dropbox file, I get an error message:
---------------------------
WindowsApplication1
---------------------------
Did not find: C:\Matrix Games\Advanced Tactics Gold\graphics/Waw Bombur\Events\For-Mother-Russia.jpg Do you want to continue?
---------------------------
Yes No
---------------------------

I am not sure if I should say yes to continue??? I just played my Game 20 USA and China turns, using the same copy and paste to my saved games folder, so I'm reasonably sure that it's not faulting on my end. Could you load the turn again? Or do I continue with this turn despite the error message? [&:]

It is pretty safe to continue. That graphic is not being used.

Apologies to all in this game from me this time around. I had to play the German & Italian files a second time around. I'd taken nearly an hour to play both files the first time and had written quite long messages to several allies, so I'm really spitting tacks at the moment. Not quite sure what happened, but when I went to put the Japanese file into Dropbox, it appeared to have vanished. I'm sure too much red wine contributed to this outcome, so I've made a vow now not to drink before playing this game.

For what its worth, the battle results for the Axis were not nearly as good the second time around.....lol

I never cut my addition I copy. That way if the file vanishes you still have it in saved games. Might make for a cluttered save game file but as long as you name them right you never confuse them.

Oh contraire!!! I believe its because you had not drunk enough, one must reach a zen state of alcohol consumption, to truly play ATG to its optimum.

The Soviets and Germans were involved in some naval incidents, including the scuttling of vessels in Kiel.

May have been some sort of slip-up on my part as I rushed through the turn the second time. Sorry.

The Great Patriotic War (Excerpts from the journal of J. Stalin)
I hardly want to put pen to paper. We have been walking a tightrope. The Soviet Union is not a great power, but we
have expanded into lands that never imagined they would be forming soviets and integrating their government with the
USSR. We have a huge amount of consolidation to do.

The Japanese asked if we have plans for the Far East after we integrated Mongolia. We have plans for nothing! We are
taking everything on offer. Germany and the West are at war, and we are exploiting opportunities.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend?!? The expanding Soviet behemoth has caused some contemplation and adjusting of forces for both the Chinese and the Japanese! That Stalin would be "exploiting opportunities" is not the concern, BUT EXACTLY WHICH OPPORTUNITIES he is exploiting is what has given the East a chill wind! [:'(]

Germany currently had no quarrels with the USSR (except for their taking of Copenhagen, which we expressly requested through diplomatic channels for them NOT to do....grrr). Actually the main problem is the slow pace at which Germany and Italy have been persecuting the war in the West. Consequently both the Fuhrer & Mussolini have been sacking field commanders left right and center!
