Colleville Sur Mer Bug (a work around)

Post by Kull »

In the second "campaign" (Omaha Beach), there is a Panzer Grenadier unit in Colleville Sur Mer that cannot be killed. It seems to start at something like 20 points and although you can drive it down to about 10, the unit always recuperates the next turn. Failing a fix from the devs, here's the workaround:

1) Surround the town: When you place one unit in all six hexes around the town, the unit will surrender. Unfortunately the enemy unit STILL won't disappear. Worse, because the "ghost unit" is still sitting there, you cannot send a unit directly into the town hex.

2) Move THROUGH the town: This is the final piece of the puzzle. Click one of your units and make sure it has a path that includes travel through to the other side of the town. Then send it to the hex on the other side. It will travel through the town and the town will "light up" and you'll get the victory points, so it really is yours. Even though the "ghost unit" will still be visible and will prevent travel directly into the town.

A bit complicated, but at least it will get you through this campaign.

Oddly enough, I played another campaign and this time the Panzer Grenadier unit in Colleville Sur Mer did NOT turn into a "Ghost"!?!

Trying to think of what I did differently, and it *might* be an air attack in the first game, and no air attack in the sceond (at least on that unit). Weird.
