Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

wow, I have that 1806 game but did not check out the editor - very cool, with all the possibilities it could open up - perhaps through an editor alone one could create the 1807 campaign even - and with the possibility of adding one own maps? one could proceed to create the penisular war and russian campaign too?

The editor manipulates existing armies, divisions, corps. It doesn't create new armies, divisions, corps. The maps I have no idea. The editor does nothing to support new maps.

Frank, could we get a few screen shots and maybe a look at the new battle system if possible? Not meaning to take up your limited time.

You mean for the new Elbe game? I don't have any new graphics, just my handmade test maps. I also have ones for Poland and Spain.

At the moment the new version of Danube is the engine for Elbe. Which means the existing battle system. I'm doing this to cut way down on development and testing time since its been so long since Elbe was supposed to come out.

As far as an editor that did what the old 1806 editor allowed, I can certainly do that and allow for new forces. But the new scenarios would have to use existing maps and if played solitaire, existing AI.

If new forces could be created then that would be a big bonus.

Also, if a gaming club was using your game could the editor be used during pbem games. Maybe, an option that the feature could be made available or shut down depending on the users themselves when the pbem game is created?

All sounds good Frank. I will be waiting.

Elbe, Poland and Spain, excited to see how they develop, can't wait. [:)]

i am curious, how does the AI function in the game? ie i presume it is not scripted? could one have an AI functioning on a Poland map ? the 1807 campaign along with the 1813 period is one i am most interested in
