He made a couple of posts in the WitW Tech forum lately. This is just the BETA made official right?

A quick scan of the changes documented in whatsnew.pdf seems to correlate to post #2 in beta thread and the pdf in beta download.
The update does not contain the updated scenario and AI files (patch 07 beta by Andy Mac).

Anxious to hear some word on how this might affect PBEM games in progress!

DON'T DO IT!

Copy the entire contents of your latest beta to a different folder then download it there. If your game is in there, attempt it, but don't lose the original beta and save games.

I think it will probably be pretty similar to the process of upgrading to a new beta while playing, especially if you are already running one of the more recent betas.

Am playing a PBEM game under the official version.

I finished my last turn under the "old" version ("old" as in official version before today's update).
My opponent installed the new update, then opened the email turn I sent him. So far, I am told" the updates are in and running fine under for him under the new version.

I am waiting for him to finish his turn and send it back to me.

Got my return turn back.

Largest "inconvenience" noticed by me and my opponent was that some carrier squadrons resized (both IJN and USN).
Our game had just gone from June 30 to July 1.
Could it have been because that was a resize date anyway?
Maybe for one of us but probably not both IJN and the USN.

I downloaded it from the "Check for Updates" click thing on the popup at start.

The download ran fine and the install worked.

Official patch is later date (Dec 25 2014) and is also later version (11.24 instead of 11.23x10). Since it's comprehensive, it should have all Beta changes incorporated. So use the latest and greatest.

If you are referring to '42, then I believe that is the date that US CV fighter squadrons resize from 27 to 36.
