Piercing Fortress Europa

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Piercing Fortress Europa

Post by Numdydar »

Since this is on sale this week, I just wondered if it would be worth it to get even though I already have WitW. It seems like I already have a fancy sports car in WitW so why would I want something that may be less?

Edit: At least let's get the publisher and game title correct [8|]. I originally called this thread Battleground Italy [8|]

I was wondering the same thing and posted a thread in the Piercing Fortress Europa forum to that effect. If I didn't have WITW I would buy it in a heartbeat but it seems to cover the same ground and without the air element that WITW has.

It's a good game, it's just a different kind of game from WitW. It's a lot shorter, more abstract, though it has simultaneous movement which is neat.
