RE: Conflict Marcus Island
Ok, the reinforcements start piling in in two weeks.[:)] Hopefully the Allies don't know this.
I am massing my shipping to move these guys out very quickly

Ok, here is a closer look at Mixed Regiment...IF I can, I will try to get these guys into the front line positions at Ponape and Kusaie, they can at least be air evacuated if they are bypassed.
I will try to get the Divisons back to the Marianas, Luzon area. Would be nice to have a full reserve here, somewhere.

Night, great big old moon lighting everything up, except in the bad weather of the Andamans. Tanaka leads his cruiser force towards Car Nicobar, sweeping aside the enemy subs, clearing a path for the bombardment fleet following.
For once it works as planned...the carefully plotted course avoids the majority of the enemy subs.

PT boats, of course!
With full moonlight, despite the weather, Tanaka makes short work of these guys, a clash much studied by the Admiralty...now, will the bombardment group follow?

RE: Conflict Marcus Island
Like clockwork! Was there ever really a question? The bombardment force isn't pestered by subs nor PT boats and unleashes a wonderful bombardment on the hapless Allies. We have our special naval consult, codenamed: NYGiants, to thank for this operation. Who he is remains a mystery, but he clearly knows his stuff and the Admiralty holds him in high regard![&o]

The second spotting of the elusive LeTriomphant. We have orders from on high to sink this ship...dare we order a deep raid in an attempt?

Glad I was able to help. [8D]
Where did you get the new artwork?? I like to get those clouds for my game. They seem to help show weather better than stock.

What art mod(s) are you running? It's fantastic!
RE: Conflict Marcus Island
The day is marred by Allied subs, it seems if that first sub attack is effective they all are...

RE: Conflict Marcus Island
I think you're making the right decision to fight in the Andamans. The Allies can't use Rangoon for their big warships, their nearest repair yard is a fair distance away, and their bases aren't the best to support operations from.
On your side, Rangoon and Palembang are but a few days sail away. If it's possible, I'd start looking at trying to make Port Blair uncomfortable for him to use. If he can't base his auxiliary ships there, he's either going to Ceylon or Calcutta to rearm.
If you can beat away his CAP and get some IJN 2E torpedo bombers operating from Sabang, you can make the Andaman Sea a nice kill-zone for any Allied surface ship.

I have killed 11 of these blimps here in the Bay of Bengal/Andamans.
They really are quite nasty in a night naval search role...they spot everything.
So drastic measures call for extreme answers...I will respond with my own secret weapon at some point in the future!

M-M, I have to say, it is on my mind a lot. Air HQs at three bases...waiting to heal some air groups, and then I think a major push. I have to overcome 230 Fighters at Port Blair and do it all in one day. Almost all the tools are in place...

Or just an enormous convoy...
We shall see...
Fuel convoy docking at Truk...really only enough fuel for emergency resupply and the operations of midgets.
Fuel convoy delivering at Guam...substantial.
Turn is away, nothing really exciting...preparing.
