You need to be made aware that we still take our new pages pretty seriously around these here parts.

Trouble is, I still can't count. [:(]

Neither can Warspite1. But that hasn't kept him from participating in regular discussions here.

"Discussions". My, my, have we gotten some lofty aspirations.

Not necessarily. Although feeding them table scraps is probably not a good habit. [:-]

Alright then. Try "Inane blatherings" or "Pedantic Psychobabble". Which do you prefer? [:D]

My dear Warspite1,

You do recall that one is supposed to capitalize regions of the country. When one refers to the 'American South', the latter word should be capitalized. If you meant that we are travelling south (the direction) to get to Texas, that's also incorrect. We will be taking the less-traveled route North above the pole, around the eastern hemisphere and back around the globe, arriving in Texas via Brazil and Cuba.

Either one is more accurate than "discussions". Discussions, forsooth! [8|]

a) Do not EVER presume to teach me English (see AB thread) [:-]
b) I meant of course the directional term, but should have realised you would take a different route. Please say Hi to Father Christmas for me on your way. I understand he spends March-September in Cuba with 50 concubines and the largest cigar you've ever seen Fnarr Fnarr.

Why are you heading south if I may ask? Work?

Nope. Not this time. Family.

As in-all of my wife's and my family is in the Southwest now. The only thing that kept us here in the frozen tundra was our jobs at a local large Midwest university.

My wife left her job at this particular university in 2010. She works from home now and has been doing very well. She could do what she does from any place with a high speed internet modem. No, Onime, it's not that. [:-][:D]

When my oh-so-dear boss of 12 years told me last year to take a 25% pay cut because the departmental budget wasn't so great, I told him to get stuffed and resigned within 48 hours.

As neither of us is held in sway by the monolithic university any longer, we decided that it would be nice to be around family-particularly since our parents are getting elderly and we'd like our kids to grow up knowing their cousins, aunts and uncles.

Oh. We won't miss the bitter fucking cold either.
