How much did you spend?

Post by aaatoysandmore »

I spent a whopping $70 on gaming last year. I have to say it was one of the worst years for computer gaming for me. Nothing seemed to come out that interested me enough to buy it until the sales in july and december rolled around.

I got 17 games out of it total and some dlc for a couple of games. Out of that the only big title I bought was Pandora for $19.99 and I didn't really cere for it. Picked up Caesar in Gual from Humble Bundle for a buck that was a good price. Most of the rest was just cheap junk from the Steam sales. Lego Lord of the Rings and some such.

What'd you get and spend? If you care to tell that is not being nosey. [X(]

I'm not saying [;)]

However, I will add I haven't regretted any purchase. I just want to live long enough to play WitW intelligently, if possible.

As far as WiF, I knew what I was in for, so can only blame myself.

BA2, Hell, Pike&Iron, all solid releases. And CMANO is the game of my dreams, once I can get to it...

You can't get to the game of your dreams? That's sad.

I got bunch of games, old and new, but I have not counted how much those did cost. From Matrix/Slitherine titles I got to myself:
Pandora & expansion
Unity of Command & expansions
Birth of Rome (part of the Alea Jacta Est series)
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Only bought WITW I think - although DC:CB (with Warsaw to Paris too at a reduced price iirc) may have been a 2014 purchase too?? So what's that? just over £100.

Not great value based on playing time - WITW I was determined to get into (and did at least try) but just do not have the time. Maybe I need to accept that Gary Grigsby games are not for me? Dunno - that hardcover annual screams at me to be read, so maybe [;)]

Whether I ever get to Decisive Campaigns I do not know.

I always said once MWIF came out I would be unlikely to buy another game. I suspect that 2015 will be reserved solely for MWIF which slowly but (hopefully) surely is getting into shape, and I can at least play by a sort of manual PBEM with me old mucker Ormster.

Now Maitland, now's your time!

Regarding Matrix: WitW. Aside of Matrix: MMX, Divinity OS, Wasteland 2, Shroud of the Avatar, some CKII DLC. I enjoy TBS and RPG likewise.

At least this year I started off good with Mark Walker's Heroes of Stalingrad. What's to look forward to in the wargaming dept this year guys, gals and Matrix Staff? [:)] I'm still holding out for another ancient game of some type or other empire builder with a turn based tactical combat engine though not like Ageod did it. More like Field of Glory with an empire builder attached and a better solo ai than the first one. [&o]

Course I could go for Panzer Command: West Front also. [:D]

I would like to remain married, so I will decline to answer. We did buy a new console last year so that added up fast.
I did spend way too much on gaming.

I bought the latter during the sale. Installed, loaded. Just can't get into it for some reason. Maybe if I finish the Glantz books I started I'll get in the mood.

My wife likes gaming too so I can justify some of it since she plays certain games as much if not more than I do. She probably has more hours on our PS4 than I do.

But I do buy lots of lots of games. If we ever end up having children then I will have to curb my addiction a bit.

my girl friend fine with my gaming, as i only spend on my hobby what she already has spent on her's, so if i want something, i just encourage her to buy something, knowing i can then do the same, so up to yet that works fine for the both of us, and she games also which helps, and her lads 21 now, so have 3 buying games some months, not that we all like the same stuff mind you, or on the same format

In that case I recommend you to look for some analog war games. Show her off Warhammer games (Warhammer Fantasy Battles & Warhammer 40,000), look up cost of the models, and compare that to computer war games [X(]

I'm sure I went a little over $300 US. Seems a little high when I'm forced to look at it but really NO regrets!

I checked the Matrix "My Games" list and I find it interesting.

2010-- 5 games
2011-- 4
2012-- 3
2013-- 9
2014-- 9

The increase in Matrix/Slitherine purchases is two fold, I stopped buying Xbox stuff and some interesting games where released.

Good start this year already with 1 'premium' (Distant Worlds Universe)in January.

(I plan to buy Vietnam '65 at launch, plus 'Tercio to Salvo' for 'Pike and Shot' and may add Battle Academy 2 later with the add on if there's a sale.)
