Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Really enjoying the alternative CV's showing on the counters. It's great seeing the jump in CV when you attach a unit from the STAVKA to an army it helps cement the importance of the command chain. The other observation is that even if the army is still attached to STAVKA the jump is considerable with no real extra benfit being seen if the Army is also attached to a front. So from first impressions armies attached to the STAVKA and not a front may be better than the penalties that occur when a front is over burdened. Hoping some experts can put me right about this in laymans terms.

I do not have the latest patch instaled but the following still aplies ;

combat rols are conducted by the hq directy in charge of the unit , be it corps , army, front or high comand .

divisions atached directly to front suffer a 10 % penalty so a 5 cv unit fights actually with 4,5 Cv.
divisions atached directly to high comand suffer a 20 % penalty so a 5 cv unit fights actually with 4,0 Cv.

there is no penalty at corps or army level so a 5cv unit stil fights at 5cv.

Armies atached directly to Stavka do not benefit from the intermediary level of comand , so while the combat rols are not afected , if the army leader fails the admin or initiative check
you can expect fewer movement points, combat or suport units failing to comit to combat from reserve .

One way around that, is to have shock armies atacked to stavka (those give +1 admin ) but you only receive those in december.
