RE: Pelton vs smokindave34 Turn 25
I trust those following this game can see what you get when agreeing as the Soviet player to this.
1941 GC Sudden Death or Alt VC260
Mild Blizzard Rules
Non Random Weather
No 1-1 = 2-1
Dave is not a bad player, but he's helpless under these one-sided conditions given Pelton's abilities.

Do you have a suggestion for rules, .08.02beta?
RE: Pelton vs smokindave34 Turn 25
Pelton, I think I noticed a slight change to your modus operandi as you slog thru layers of Soviet forts. Do you attach a Pz div in Reserve Mod to 3 infantry in your powerhouse corps to maximize their attack value and minimize attack penalties ???
WITE is a good addiction with no cure.

Depends on the context. If I am playing against Pelton and he wants no 1:1-2:1, fine. Non Random weather, fine. That's now two pluses for the Axis side. So against that I would want normal blizzard and regular victory conditions to level the field.
The presence of no 1:1-2:1 combined with mild blizzard means neither side suffers significant casualties in the summer-fall and the Axis can fight to retain the most important territory gains of winter in the Moscow area. That means come summer, it's simple cleanup for the Axis to get to 260VP just as we see here. It so happens that I am playing Dave under the conditions I mention and the battle lines are quite similar to where they were historically with Leningrad being lost the exception.

I have to say Smokin' is paying the price for agreeing to house rules that were each pro-German. IMHO house rules should be used to correct gamey abuse of rules, and broadly neutral or designed to aid the weaker/less experienced player.

Turn 55 GHC Armaments: 224,000 Manpower in Pool: 275,000 VP:238

Manpower Pts over run during 1942 = 100
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions: 20
Brigades: 10
SU:
AP total:
A few small pockets each turn so far mostly in the center. Dave is doing a good job at holding Moscow. I don't think I will be able to take it until rivers freeze so I will just keep doing the packman thing for now.

Here is OOB at the start of the summer campaign.
I like to keep SHC OOB around 7.5 to 8.0 million and GHC OOB above 3.5.
As long as my OOB is over 3.5 I will keep pounding away.
I need to pocket at least 100 divisions. There is a way to get to 260 VP without taking Moscow and its really not that far from the front the VP's required.

Turn 56 GHC Armaments: 221,000 Manpower in Pool: 230,000 VP:239
Armament Pts Destroyed = 80
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 = 100
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941

Divisions: 32
Brigades: 10

AP total:
Another small pocket formed.
One small operation is down in the oil fields, 1 PZ Corp, 1 German I Corp and all the minor allies.
A second small operation is pushing for Stalingrad, which is 2 Infantry Armies.
A 3rd small operation is pushing near Moscow, which is 1 infantry army.
One large operation is pushing in the center below the Oka and north of Don.
Most of the mobile divisions are in AGA, the main job is to pocket units for now.
I have railheads withen 10-15 hexes of front line units or closer. No need to use HQBU's so far just air drops.

@Pelton
Would appreciate your reasoning for choosing AG commanders, especially Jodl. Clearly, you've spent some Adm points. von Kluge, OK. Oncle Fedor, maybe.
