map request mod

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

map request mod

The various german garrison zones are separated into regions which borders are shown graphically with a dashed yellow line. Any chance making this more prominent (brighter, thicker) ?
Can be difficult for old eyes to see .......

Someone made a border mod for the very same reason -> http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3788979

So it's certainly doable, and not too difficult I think.

One temporary solution could be to use the border mod as a garrison border mod. If I understand it correctly, national border = every 001 and 003 tga file in the Dat\Art\Tiles\BORDER, and garrison border = every 002 and 004 tga file. If you take the border mod, change every 001 to a 002 and every 003 to a 004, then copy it into the BORDER folder you should have a garrison border mod for the same price.

I just fiddled with the .tga files for them. I changed the map files a little as well because the original map looks a little washed out for my personal taste. I am not sure of the process to put files into the mods forum. If there is interest I can try to figure that part out.

Program=paint.net
and
Border(x)_002.tga

where x is the hexside that the border is drawn on. 0 through 5.

I would certainly use those borders.

If not on this forum, you can easily use someting like https://www.mediafire.com/ to upload your mod.
