DC III in the works....

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

DC III in the works....

Post by TJD »

Well, this is interesting: DC3 is in the works!

Seems odd there has been no announcement in the forum about this.

Sounds interesting, more than case blue (at least for me).

ah well for me Barbarossa has already been done to death, i would have liked Arnhem or another go at some of the western front etc, but that maybe because it still hasn't been done in the later years really good enough for me by anyone at the level i want either, this new engine would have done it justice i bet, but maybe number 4 then, i'll wait with baited breath[;)]

i used to play squad leader and that was a brilliant board war game and so far hasn't been beaten or surpassed by any game i've played as yet...

dated and made by Avalon Hill in 1977, i still have the original box and counters, with all the updates, something to keep dry and safe...

for those who don't know it, or have heard about it but never seen or played it, here's the online version...

If you'll read the diaries carefully you will soon notice this may be a unique take on a well-worn subject, which is why I'm very eager to play this game. It focuses on things which most hex-and-counter games forget, that is interaction between commanders, including front line commanders vs the logistics guys vs high command. I even think the actual counter-pushing is a bit simplified comparing to some other games, but it's not a problem given the other aspects to be put into the game.

Hey sorry for editing your post zakblood. But there was a reason there was no public announcement. we don't want to give the wrong idea to other players. We are just accepting a limited number of testers and this point, if you did not receive a personal email by Cameron Harris you will not be able to sign up for this early beta testing round. Thanks for the enthusiasm though :)

best wishes,
Vic

Somewhere towards fall or the end of this year would be optimal. But as usual my disclaimer: this is a target, not a promise :)

STOP with the EASTERN front already.

Want something new? Or something that hasn't been beaten to a bloody pulp over and over and over and over? Here's a few ideas. Italian campaign hasn't been done since TOAW and would be perfect for the decisive game engine. Guadalcanal? Okinawa? D-Day to the Rhein. Market Garden? Bulge? How About a what if invasion of Japan? Korea 1 anyone?

How many different ways are there to make vanilla ice cream?

I am looking forward to Case Blue. That said I'd be immensely happy to see this engine applied to the Pacific theatre in WWII. Or the Korean War. Vietnam. WWII West front.

It's a wonderful game engine, the enhancements for Case Blue look good and I really hope there are more releases in the future.

Have to agree with Werewolf. I would love to see D-Day to the Rhine
